born in 1976, constance guisset lives and works in paris.
after economic and commercial studies at ESSEC and IEP Paris, then a year in the tokyo parliament, constance guisset chose to turn to creation and entered ENSCI – Les Ateliers, from which she graduated in 2007.
in 2008, she received the grand prix du design from the city of paris, the public prize for the design parade at villa noailles and two project grants from VIA. in 2010, she was named designer of the year at the home & objects fair and won the audi talents award.
constance guisset founded her studio in 2007 and works with many French and foreign furniture publishing houses such as molteni, petite friture, mustache, etc. at the same time, she designs industrial objects for laCie – seagate or travel objects for louis vuitton malletier, for example.
since 2009, she has produced several scenographies for shows, including the solo danced the funambule of angelin preljocaj, the laurent garnier concert at the pleyel hall in 2009 or the nights of angelin preljocaj in chaillot.
she also designs exhibition scenographies for the museum of decorative arts in paris, the villa noailles in hyères, or for brands such as established & sons, lafayette and molteni galleries – 2011, prize for best scenography, designers’ days, Paris.
it has developed a new concept of reception areas for the novotel suite, a subsidiary of the accor group. it was deployed in the hague and in paris.
in may 2012, his first solo exhibition, design – constance guisset, took place at the chapelle des calvairiennes, a contemporary art center in the country of mayenne.
his research finds applications in object design, scenography and video. she endeavors to create light and lively objects, the elegant fluidity of which could arouse astonishment and provoke a moment of escape through dreams.
in august 2018, constance guisset was invited by sylvain marcoux to mexico to collaborate on the first collection of objects from the marcoux mexico house – 7 vases, 1 decanter and a table – in oaxacan black earth, in limited series.
a trip to the land of the black earth, which Constance Guisset recalls in these terms:
“Incredible Mexican adventures. clashes of colors and materials, interspersed with dance. unbridled craftsmanship surrounded by modernist architecture.
