paris : design week 2022 - collection heritage by raul de la cerda

maison marcoux mexico, the collection heritage, design raúl de la cerda

on the occasion of the paris design week, which will take place from september 08 to 17 2022, maison marcoux mexico is pleased to invest the new cosentino city paris showroom, located at 27 Bd malesherbes paris 8 to present exclusively the new collection heritage, imagined by the mexican designer raúl de la cerda, after a residency in the region in oaxaca

the vases of the collection heritage are pieces made in san bartolo coyotepec by el maestro felipe fabian pedro, chosen by raúl de la cerda and sylvain marcoux for his unique savoir-faire.

the four sculptural vases in the collection heritage are made by hand, with simple forms of prehispanic aesthetics that pay homage to the powerful ancestral roots of raúl de la cerda. they thus highlight the beauty of the material, decontextualizing forms and temporality.

inspired by traditional forms and the desire to infuse them with a mesoamerican touch, the collection heritage exploits this ancient vocabulary to create a unique blend of polished and rough barro negro – black clay – between yesterday and today, design, craftsmanship and diversity, ancestral heritage and contemporary creation, maison marcoux mexico refuses to choose. like sylvain marcoux, he happily draws a link between paris and mexico.
